To reduce our carbon emissions, to increase biodiversity, to reduce waste and increase recycling in our communities. We have so far set up 5 community action groups to focus on specific areas:

1. Protecting and increasing tree cover, 2. Making cycling safer, 3. Reducing waste and increasing recycling, 4. Creating wildlife corridors, 5. Reducing food waste

Our scope includes: influencing Ilkley’s Neighbourhood Plan; helping residents and businesses reduce the climate impact of their homes/workplaces, travel and purchasing choices; improving food waste regimes; promoting renewable energy projects; coordinating with initiatives by other groups on water, wildlife, biodiversity, heritage and social inclusion.

Feed Leeds is a network of individuals and organisations supporting local food growing for its social, economic, environmental and health benefits, and to promote healthy, sustainable and affordable food in Leeds. Being a network, our members help growers and other food projects with advice, contacts, lobbying etc as needed.

Campaigning for West Yorkshire Pension Fund to stop investing in fossil fuels, ie divest, as climate action and to protect pensions. We work together with other similar campaigns under the banner of UK Divest.

Own and operate 200kW solar PV across 6 buildings. Funding invested by our 73 wonderful Members, in amounts from £100 right up to £20k. Offer work experience to local college and university students to improve their skills and understanding of community energy and climate change solutions. Partner in Smarter Energy NEL – working to help local small businesses with energy efficiency. Developing new solar projects and raising the money for them soon through our fourth community share offer.
