National Grid’s Future Energy Scenarios report examines future electricity and gas demand and supply for the next 30 years and beyond.
The report looks at a number of scenarios, including the UK committing to meeting its climate change targets. It also frames its scenarios around the level of decentralisation of the energy market.
Key findings are that the two scenarios in which the UK misses its carbon reduction target are characterised by slower development of electric vehicles and a high level of shale gas extraction.
National Grid are running a series of seminars giving more detailed information and enabling participants to question the FES analysts.
