Help us plant over 4,400 trees and shrubs to support local wildlife and reduce the city’s carbon footprint. Planting trees is a great way to get active and do your bit for the planet.
All you need to do is turn up on the day in warm and waterproof clothing with tough shoes or wellies – be ready to get stuck in – everyone welcome! We encourage everyone to travel sustainably to this event, but if driving is essential, we ask that you consider car-sharing and park considerately.
This event is kindly funded by Leeds City Council, Balfour Beatty and White Rose Forest. Please note that unfortunately entry to the site is not accessible to mobility impaired.
There will be Portaloos and first aid provision on site.
About the project:
Volunteers will be planting a new woodland on the site which is currently of poor wildlife value. Planting trees will improve the biodiversity of the site, help to store carbon and create a new habitat. Our aim for the site is to plant 2.0 hectares of new woodland with a range of species including Oak, Alder and Rowan to name but a few!
